Liz also has a comprehensive background with horses. She has been involved with horses since the age of three and was trained by her grandfather, who owned Char-Mar Arabians.

Mike and Liz
Mike and Liz Murphy are the owners, trainers, instructors of Legacy Stable LLC. The farm has been in Liz’s family since the 70s known as Char Mar Arabians. Working together since 2003 their students and horses have won over 85 national and world championships.
Sarah first sat on a horse at the age of two at a farm down the street from her house, then began riding at Fieldstone Farm at age six. By the age of twelve, she was a working student at Fieldstone and Herringbrook Farm for Marybeth McGee. During Sarah’s junior years she worked for Jay and John Sargent, Carl Catani, Tricia Moss, Kathy Fletcher, and Julie Kelly. While Sarah’s main instructor was Julie, she worked and rode for all of these other farms. She was so lucky to have so many people a part of her team to make her junior years a huge success. Sarah had several wins in all the 3’6 junior medals at local and AA rated horse shows. Some of her most proud accomplishments as a junior are winning the 2012 MHC Junior Medal Finals, Reserve Champion of the 2013 RIHA Junior Medal Finals and competing at the USEF Medal Finals and the ASPCA Maclay Finals. As a collegiate rider, Sarah was National Reserve Champion in the Open flat as a freshman at IHSA Nationals. Sarah was Caccchione rider all four years of college and also was 3rd in the Cacchione Cup at the 2015 Nationals after holding the lead for both the over fences and flat phase. Sarah has been riding as a professional for the last eight years and has trained several young horses. She is really excited about this new adventure as IEA head coach.
